Feburary 17 - 20th, 2022 / Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany
The first months of the year are a very special time for reflection and contemplation. In a stunning 200-year-old manor house surrounded by soothing nature, we welcome the beginning of the new year. We take the opportunity to consciously look at the past year, what has moved us, the insights we have received and where past experiences have taken us. With this awareness we prepare ourselves for the new year. This retreat gives you a space to realize what is really important for you and where your previous striving in life has taken you. What do you really want for yourself and what quality of life do you want to take into the new year?
We detox body, mind and soul from the things we don’t need any longer and prepare everything that is to come with excitement and trust. Instead of setting superficial resolves that are forgotten within the first weeks of the year we place the seeds of our true intentions deep within our hearts and start the new year with truthfulness, aliveness, connectedness, inspiration and joy.
New Beginnings - 4 Day Yoga & Meditation Retreat
We will immerse in both dynamic and gentle yoga practices, exploring different sequences and poses from simple to advanced, diving deep into the practice. In guided meditations we honor the present, reconnect with ourselves and find our true inner center. Generous time is allocated for daily breathing practice and different meditation techniques. Spend your free time reconnecting and grounding yourself with walks in the beautiful landscape, exchanging with like hearted and inspiring people or simply relaxing in the stunning manor house. Homemade delicious vegetarian food complements the cleansing work in body and mind.
In our retreats the togetherness and community feeling are very important, time is spent together, sharing and laughing, but of course there is always time and space for individual retreat, rest and inner reflection.
The Program
The program starts on Thursday February 17th at 5.30pm with the first yoga session (arrival possible from 3.00pm) and ends after lunch on Sunday February 20th at 3.00pm.
We start every morning with yogic breath work that cleanses the body on the physical and energetic level and awakens our spirits. After breakfast we then flow through dynamic Vinyasa Yoga sequences that strengthen the body and leave us feeling energized and balanced. We build the sequences step-by-step learning about the alignment that allows the energies in our body to flow freely and release great healing potential.
We focus on different areas of the body, the respective energy centers and the aspects of our live they relate to, exploring the connection between the body and the mind.
In the afternoon we take our practice further in workshops to understand Asana (posture) and their effect on the muscular and endocrine system, but also on emotions and mental wellbeing (Hatha Yoga).
We indulge in the healing practices of soothing Yin Yoga for deep tissue release and dive deep into guided meditation (Yoga Nidra). In special sittings we meditate with different techniques, surrounded by candlelight or accompanied by the sound of Mantra.
Classes are held in English unless all the participants speak German.

The Place
Hidden between the wide fields and endless forests of the Mecklenburger Schweiz, you will find Gut Pohnstorf, like a pearl in a shell. The picturesque 200 year old manor is surrounded by an impressive 10.000 m² park-like garden that offers endless space for silence and unwinding moments.
The exclusively rented manor house offers a lot of space with 1.000 sqm distributed between seven apartments. Each of them bears the name of a woman who had a lasting influence on society in the 19th century, when the house was built. Feel completely at home with Malwida von Meysenbug, Margarete Steiff, Marie Curie, Bertha Pappenheim, Hedwig Dohm, Clara Schumann, or Louise Otto-Peters. The beautifully renovated rooms arranged with elaborately restored pieces of furniture highlight the marvellous beauty of this place. All rooms are equipped with single or double beds, depending on the needs of our yogis. In addition, there is a kitchen in every apartment with all necessary supplies.
